In 1919, Eglantyne Jebb and her sister Dorothy Buxton founded Save the Children. SOSdelfines is a coalition of national and international entities created to expose the problems of dolphins and killer whales in captivity. SOSdelfines aims to create awareness of suffering, high mortality, aggressions and other effects derived from the maintenance of cetaceans in zoos, dolphinariums and aquariums, also requesting the end of the circus shows in which they are used and their captivity.
The Manta Trust was formed in 2011 to coordinate global research and conservation efforts of these incredible animals, their close relatives and their habitat. This charismatic species acts as a flagship to help promote the conservation of the marine ecosystem, becoming a catalyst for change, engaging and motivating the general public, governments and local communities alike.
